About

I’m Keith Peters. I write code in a variety of languages. Sometimes when I’m just fooling around I make something that looks nice and put it up here. I call it “generative art”.

Generative art refers to art that has been generated, composed, or constructed in an algorithmic manner through the use of systems defined by computer software algorithms, or similar mathematical or mechanical or randomised autonomous processes.

wikipedia on generative art

Other people have different ideas on exactly what generative art means, or what a piece has to consist of or what should have gone into it in order for it to merit that title. So it’s up to you what you want to call it. I hope you like how some of them look anyway.

Also, I just noticed today (Aug 16, 2008) that the generator.x home page reads “Art from Code – Generator.x”. Oops. I’m not sure how long that has been like that, but I assume it was before I put this site up. Totally unintentional, but too late to change.
